Bike Florida National Scenic Trail

The Florida National Scenic Trail is one of the most gorgeous in the region, and cyclists of all ages and abilities quickly fall in love with what seems to be a fairytale outing. The maintained, paved path stretches for miles all the way from Navarre Beach to Pensacola Beach. Take a multi-mile day trip if you’re up for the challenge, or explore the shorter routes and pack a decadent picnic lunch for a more relaxed trip.

Numerous bike rental shops in Navarre Beach, such as the Boardwalk Shop, offer affordable rentals by the day or hour. If you’re not a regular cyclist, or you left your bike at home, you can still discover the turns and curves of this famed trail. There are also group outings you can sign up for at the shops, which have a local guide pointing out highlights and hidden treasures along the way.

Bike It

Known locally as just “The Florida Trail,” this federally designated trail includes almost 1,300 miles and covers one of the most interesting landscapes in the country. Whether you’re on a cruise, have your toddlers along for the ride in their own seats, or you’re aiming for a PR on an ultra ride, nothing compares to the salt in the air and the stunning beaches you’ll see along the way.

On two wheels is one of the best ways to see the real beauty of Florida. Ask the front desk staff for additional recommendations. (And remember to reapply that sunscreen every two hours!).
