Cinco de Mayo Events

Just 40 minutes from Navarre hotels is the Cinco de Mayo Festival at Seville Quarter. Located in downtown Pensacola, it’s the biggest fiesta in the region, featuring imported beers and tequilas, authentic cuisine, and three full days of non-stop fun with live music. Enjoy happy hour starting at 5 p.m. at the End O’ the Alley Courtyard complete with a tequila tasting featuring Herradura. Seville Quarter is highlighting Corona specials all weekend for the 21+ crowd.

Seville Quarter, known as Pensacola’s most historic entertainment venue, features a full night of fun and revelry. However, for family-friendly entertainment, stop by earlier in the day for a Mexican brunch at 11 a.m. by Chef Brandon Melton. The à la carte menu features both American and Mexican staple items. The Sunday brunch is punctuated with live music and a Bloody Mary Bar with the option for bottomless mimosas, champagne, or screwdrivers.

Gone to the Dogs

The annual Running of the Chihuahuas starts Saturday at 1 p.m. with proceeds benefitting the Humane Society (don’t worry, they don’t run far!). Visitors traveling with their furry friends can enter to win a $150 gift card and trophy. Dogs over 15 pounds can enter in their own category.

Afterwards, it’s a post-race party. Spectators are welcome to check out the event for free. There are also prizes for best trick, best costume, and owner look-alike.

Prefer to stick closer to your Navarre Beach hotel? The local El Patron Mexican Grill at 8662 Navarre Parkway is offering specials on margaritas, imported beers, and your favorite Mexican dishes.
