Navarre’s Great Mexican Fare

Navarre is home to one of the most delicious Mexican restaurants in the area, Cactus Flower Cafe. Locally owned and operated—and taking full advantage of the fresh seafood—it’s the ultimate destination for a romantic date night, with their supersized margaritas. It’s also great for gatherings for parties or business luncheons, and it’s a family-friendly favorite!

A favorite starter is the mango shrimp featuring big prawns in hard flour shells with fresh homemade guacamole, cilantro, and the sweet yet tangy mango sauce. The queso bites, which are mini chimichangas with jalapeños and a secret Santa Fe sauce, are perfect for sharing. You’ll also want to share the Capistrano nachos with fresh guac, your choice of protein, olives, jalapeños and pico.

Mexican Fare in Paradise

Featured dishes include the California steak salad and the smokin’ flat iron steak quesadilla with smoked gouda and Monterey cheeses. Served alongside thick sour cream and house salsa, you can add on fresh shrimp that’s seasoned perfectly. Their Cactus Flower rice bowl is layered with different kinds of rice with creamy pinto beans, cheeses, simmered black beans, and your choice of shredded chicken, shredded beef, pork or ground beef.

The biggest challenge? Saving room for dessert! There’s Mexican wedding cake which includes a white cake soaked in sweet creams and topped with whip. Fall in love with the choco flan including a thick layer of ganache, or go traditional with fabulous flan. And that chocolate gooey buttercake? It’s how you’ve always wanted to go—death by chocolate!
